RDA Orana taking steps to assist National Stronger Regions Fund Applicants

Regional Development Australia Orana is hosting Advanced Grant Writing Seminars in Dubbo and Coonamble in July to assist local government, and community groups in their grant submission process.

“Compiling an evidence based, compelling story, combined with a strong business case that reflects value for money is essential for any application for the National Stronger Regions Fund. It needs to clearly show the economic benefits the project will bring to the region” said Felicity Taylor-Edwards, CEO of RDA Orana.

“The National Stronger Regions Fund, has the objective of supporting economic growth and sustainable development, especially in regions such as the Orana. These workshops are an ideal way to assist Orana communities to compete for this funding” Felicity said.

The Dubbo workshop will be on July 15th and Coonamble on July 16th. Mr Jamie Young, an experienced grant and tender writer, will show participants how to research and write winning proposals.

Participants at either workshop will learn what to do and what not to do to get project attention.

The focus will be on government and major foundation grant writing, with a special focus on applications for the National Stronger Regions Fund however the skills learned will be of use for any application process.

The grants submission process can be a confusing and time consuming business for any organisation, and through the course of the workshop, participants will gain an understanding of the quickest, most efficient ways to gather information to plan & develop a proposal, and how to ensure responses adequately address the criteria that applications are assessed against.

Anyone who is in the position of writing grants submissions for major infrastructure or investment projects is encouraged to attend. Numbers will be restricted to 20 participants at each venue, with the offer of a free one on one feedback session for your application for the first four applicants to register.
