Work Inspiration continues across the Orana

Regional Development Australia (RDA) Orana has recently been speaking with Orana employers and schools about Work Inspiration, a program that inspires school students about the world of work.

Last week RDA Orana held a planning session at Warren Central School with some regional employers keen to help students build their career knowledge.

"Our workforce research has revealed a number of skills gaps across various industries in the region. Work Inspiration is one of our strategies to help up skill our region's young students in order to help prepare them for life after school," said Robyn Lamont, acting EO at RDA Orana.

"It is an employer-led, short-term exposure to a work place which allows groups of students to gain an improved understanding of the tasks each role performs within an organisation or industry. Students also hear from key staff about their career journeys, which helps to educate and inspire them about the options available to them once they leave school." said Robyn.

Work Inspiration has received strong support from employers and schools, with many congratulating RDA Orana on a great initiative for the region's future workforce.

Later this year, Year 10 students from Warren Central School will participate in Work Inspiration in the building, engineering, administration, horticulture, mechanical and agriculture industries.
