Business: Walls Court, Dubbo

Walls Court offers bed and breakfast accommodation in a picturesque rural setting conveniently situated 12 km from the centre of Dubbo. Operational since 2005, the property was originally purchased as a family home but owners Neil and Nancy Lander could see the potential for a business. With some refurbishments, they started with a studio room before converting old stables into family accommodation with the B&B both pet and wheelchair friendly.

The accommodation is clean and comfortable and guests are treated to a unique farm stay experience where they can interact with the animals in residence (including dogs and chooks) and enjoy the quiet country surroundings which includes beautiful scenery, wildlife and in the evening, the stunning night sky.

Meals are available on request and the owners rely on trusted local producers and the farmers markets for the supply of food items whenever possible.

Located just 8 km from Taronga Western Plains Zoo, guests also have the added advantage of the Landers’ extensive knowledge after many years spent as zoo volunteers.

Visitors to Walls Court are generally from the Eastern seaboard but there are also guests from interstate and overseas. Clientele usually falls into two groups: those visiting the zoo and those using Dubbo as a stop off on a longer trip. Either way, excellent hospitality is offered by the hosts who run the business as a couple.

The B&B is also listed in the Dubbo Guide, Outback Beds, Hosted Accommodation Australia and their own website with information also available through Dubbo Visitors Information Centre.

One of the aims of the business is to support local and regional providores and showcase their hospitality and local products at all levels including nationally and globally. To that end, they have been featured in the local press and in the Sydney Morning Herald.

The strength of Walls Court lies in extensive local knowledge with 50 years of experience, warm hospitality and the ability to cater to individual needs.

At the moment, Neil and Nancy do not have a Facebook page or take online bookings. However, they are happy to take online and phone bookings and their future aim is to continue offering the same service with the possibility of offering packages with further options.

Described by guests as the ‘best farm stay we've had’ Walls Court Bed and Breakfast oozes quaint country charm and is well worth a visit.
