DROUGHT COMMUNITIES EXTENSION PROGRAM

With the announcement of Bourke Shire Council being successful in its application for $1 million under the Drought Communities Extension Program, there are increased employment opportunities for the community of Bourke.

People who have their work interrupted because of drought and are currently unemployed or have had their usual hours of employment reduced, are encouraged to register for short-term employment opportunities as a result of the Drought Communities Extension Program.

People with the following skill sets are particularly encouraged to register:

  • Fencing
  • Carpentry/ Building
  • General Labourers
