Economy goes from strength to strength

With unemployment figures down by 2.4 per cent in the Federal electorate of Parkes in the past 12 months, its a good sign that the economy is going from strength to strength.

Regional Development Australia (RDA) Orana executive officer Megan Dixon said that job vacancies had increased by 4.1 per cent in the last quarter
of 2017, marking more than four years of growth.*

“This environment shows that employers have faith in boosting employment opportunities and potential employees are experiencing success in the job
market.”

“More vacancies indicate growth in the marketplace, which is great news.”

RDA Orana can assist regional employers with finding the best person for the job through its Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme visa (subclass 187).

“Low unemployment rates indicate that there are more people already working so this scheme enables employers to sponsor skilled workers into positions
which cannot be filled using the local labour market. This also assists employees who are foreign nationals with specific skills to obtain a permanent
work visa.

“The Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme visa (subclass 187) is utilised to enhance Australia's ability to compete globally and guarantee an overall
net benefit to the Australian economy.”

In announcing the low unemployment rates this week, Federal Member for Parkes Mark Coulton said that new export opportunities will also continue to
drive Australian jobs.

The recent signing of the Peru-Australia Free Trade Agreement presents important prospects for local products while the signing of the Comprehensive
and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership [TPP-11] creates Australia’s first free trade agreements with Canada and Mexico.

“This agreement will give Australian exporters preferential access to two of the world’s top 20 economies for the first time,” he said./ENDS
