Event to explore the future of water

The Future of Water will be the featured topic at RDA Orana's upcoming Inland Growth Summit in Dubbo. The one-day forum, to be held on January 30, will focus on the value of water as a natural resource and its future management.

Director of Regional Development Megan Dixon said RDA Orana was proud to present the summit as its first official event of 2020.

"The economic contributions of inland Australia has shaped our nation," she said.

"In 2020, we will come together to examine the future of water and its impact on our lives and livelihoods.

"This year's theme is all about the opportunities and innovations that are occurring around us in terms of water management, reuse innovation and change management."

The Inland Growth Summit will be facilitated by Charles Sturt University's Regional Development Strategic Advisor and former senator Fiona Nash.

The agenda will include four areas of discussion

  • Strategic use of water
  • Water for business
  • Water for community
  • Infrastructure

Some of the featured speakers for the day include Member for Parkes, the Hon Mark Coulton MP, Taronga Western Plains Zoo Director Steve Hinks, CSIRO researcher and author Geoff Beeson and Charles Sturt University Professor of Food Sustainability, the Hon Niall Blair. CSU strategic advisor Fiona Nash will be MC for the day.

The event runs from 9am to 5pm with post networking drinks to follow.
