Mark Coulton congratulated on new appointment


RDA Orana executive officer Megan Dixon has congratulated Federal Member for Parkes Mark Coulton on his recent appointment as Assistant Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for Mark personally and as a representative of this region,” she said.

“Our major industries of mining and agriculture are strong exporters and trade is an important aspect of these sectors.

“Tourism in the Orana region is also highly valued and supports the economy through retail trade, accommodation provision and food services.”

“We also encourage investment to drive and grow the region through business opportunities and economic development.”

“To have a representative from this region at a national level is very important and definitely advantageous.”

Mr Coulton described his appointment as a ‘wonderful opportunity to do further work for the Government and for the Electorate of Parkes.’

“The economy of our Electorate is underpinned by exports and tourism and I’m really excited about the opportunity to promote new and ongoing prospects
for regional NSW and the nation,” he said.

“I’m particularly pleased because I will be working with some countries on free trade agreements and because all of my Electorate relies on trade.”
