Orana communities benefiting from Building Better Regions fund


Three communities in the Orana region have benefited from the latest round of the Federal Government’s Building Better Regions Fund. Cobar will host
The Grey Mardi Gras after successfully securing $37,500. The project will fund a three-day ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s themed festival, comprising of activities
including a parade, Baby Boomers picnic concert and fashion and food competitions, providing a new social event for the remote outback community.
In Mudgee, the Mid-Western Regional Council will host a Youth Entrepreneurship Summit with its $20,000 funding, to focus on supporting young entrepreneurs
and fostering economic growth. The project will deliver entrepreneurial skills, business start-up knowledge and form connections between youth
and mentors. Gilgandra’s $20,000 windfall will be used to fund a strategic plan which will enable the Gilgandra Shire to capitalise on opportunities
provided by the Study Area for construction of the Inland Rail - Narromine to Narrabri project. For more information on these and other projects,
