Round 3 of Regional fund opens with a tourism slant

Round 3 of the Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) has been announced, with an additional $200M giving further opportunity for eligible applicants to apply.

RDA Orana Director of Regional Development Megan Dixon said the previous rounds of the BBRF had been beneficial for the Orana region.

“Baradine, Mudgee, and Cobar were all successful applicants in the last round of funding,” she said.

“More than $8M was brought into the Orana region as a result, and will be used towards infrastructure projects in those towns.”

Mrs Dixon said that a key component of Round Three is that up to $45 million has been earmarked for tourism-related infrastructure projects that will help stimulate local economies by investing in the tourism sector.

“This sector is vital for our regional and remote communities, creating jobs, stimulating new business and sustaining long-term economic growth.”

In the previous round, RDA Orana assisted with the process of project support for the proposals.

“I’m pleased to say we worked with all project proponents that were successful in our region,” Mrs Dixon said.

“We would also welcome potential applicants to contact us for assistance with economic impacts, statistics and letters of support. We also offer fee for service assistance with applications.”
