ROUND 4 OF REGIONAL FUND HAS TWO STREAMS


RDA Orana Director of Regional Development Megan Dixon has welcomed Round 4 of the Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) which has two streams available for eligible businesses. Mrs Dixon said the Infrastructure Projects Stream supports development involving construction, upgrades or extension of infrastructure. The Community Investments Stream supports projects benefitting local communities.

Mrs Dixon said previous rounds of the BBRF has been beneficial for the Orana region.

“In Round 1, Maranatha House received $1.5M towards construction of its intergenerational learning centre, the first of its kind in a regional area.” With the first sod recently turned on this project, it is exciting to see it becoming a reality for the Wellington area.”

“In Lightning Ridge, the foundations are also being established for the state of the art Australian Opal Centre, which has received $20,000, Wellington’s Town Centre Plan ($45,000), Gilgrandra’s Inland Rail operational development strategy ($20,000), the What YOU’th Can Do Festival in Dubbo ($80,000), the Grey Mardi Gras in Cobar ($37,500), Macquarie Marshes River Festival for Warren ($196,000) and the Trangie Respite Centre ($176,000).

A total of $200M is available with grants of between $20,000 and $10 million to cover 50% of project costs for not-for-profit or local government organisations.

“RDA Orana would also welcome potential applicants for assistance with economic impacts and letters of support. The organisation also offers fee for service assistance with applications.”
