RDA Orana Strengthens Regional Leadership with Two New Board Appointments

Regional Development Australia (RDA) Orana has announced the appointment of two new board members, welcoming experienced regional leaders Ben Lewis and Michele Mini to the organisation.

RDA Orana CEO Justine Campbell said the new appointments reflect the depth of talent and commitment found across the Orana region.

“We are fortunate to have leaders who not only understand the challenges facing regional communities, but who actively work to create opportunities,” Ms Campbell said.

“Ben and Michele bring strong professional capability, deep regional insight and a genuine passion for strengthening the future of the Orana.”

Their appointments follow the departure of long‑serving board member Ross Earl, whom Ms Campbell thanked for his contribution and dedication to the organisation’s mission.

Ben Lewis, Managing Director at One Key Resource, joins the board with more than two decades of experience in workforce strategy, recruitment and labour hire for industrial sectors across Australia. Ben has worked closely with regional industries to address skills shortages, workforce mobility and shifting economic conditions. His commitment to regional Australia is evident through his long-standing support for employment pathways, community initiatives and economic participation.

He has contributed to government and industry discussions on workforce policy, including Senate inquiries, and brings a practical, on‑the‑ground perspective to complex regional challenges. A former Australian Infantry Officer and Non‑Executive Director of a veteran charity, Ben brings a service‑driven mindset and a strong commitment to the prosperity of regions such as Orana.

Michele Mini, Manager Economic Development at Mid‑Western Regional Council, brings extensive experience in economic development, finance and regional leadership, with more than 20 years working across local government, regional development, community services and financial management. Michele is a Chartered Accountant and Director of Kanandah Retirement Limited, contributing expertise in governance, organisational leadership and strategic financial management. Her work is driven by a strong commitment to regional communities and a focus on fostering investment, growth and long‑term economic resilience.

Ms Campbell said the addition of Ben and Michele strengthens RDA Orana’s ability to advocate for projects that diversify the regional economy and support sustainable development.

“Both Ben and Michele have demonstrated a deep commitment to regional Australia throughout their careers. Their experience and networks will help guide our work as we continue to support industry, workforce development and community prosperity across the Orana.”

Ben and Michele join Brad Cam, Jeffrey Caldbeck, Megan Callinan, David Kirby and Lisa Crothers on the RDA Orana Board.

Ms Campbell said having board members from right across the region ensures RDA Orana remains closely connected to local priorities and opportunities.

“We’re delighted to welcome Ben and Michele to the board and look forward to the valuable perspective they will bring.”
